Programme Educational Objectives:

  • PEO 1: To solve the problem of engineering through innovation in the design of systems, tools and applications in the field of Electrical and Allied engineering Industries.
  • PEO 2 : To apply the knowledge of Electrical engineering to solve problems of social relevance and pursue higher education.
  • PEO 3 : To train our students to become professional engineers with efficient communication skills and high ethical values.
  • PEO 4 : To acquire a position so as to handle the engineering activities as a team member or as a group leader.
  • PEO 5 : To engage in lifelong learning, career enhancement and adapt to the changing professional and societal needs.

Programme Outcomes:

Electrical Engineering Under graduates will be able to:

  • PO 1: Basic and Discipline specific knowledge: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
  • PO 2: Problem analysis: Identify and analyze well- defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
  • PO 3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
  • PO 4: Engineering Tools, Experimentation and Testing: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
  • PO 5: Engineering practices for society, sustainability and environment: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
  • PO 6: Project Management: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
  • PO 7: Life-long learning: Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.

Electrical Machine Laboratory

Objective:
  • To provide the students a chance to put theory into practice.
  • To get familiar with DC machines, Transformers and give them experimental skills.
  • To calculate the various parameters and characteristics of DC machine.
  • To understand the basic principles of operation of rotating DC, their classification, and basic efficiency and performance characteristics and speed regulation.
Outcomes:
  • Explain the basic principle, design of various type of AC motor starter.
  • Choose the modern engineering tools for conduction of induction motor.
  • Determine the ideas of design of three phase induction motor in the content of in technological changes.
  • Compare the different types of relays for fault mitigation in real life engineering activities.

Power Electronics Laboratory

Objectives:
  • The lab aims at imparting practical knowledge of Power Electronics devices and circuits.
  • It is accordingly well equipped with equipment’s and trainer kits to teach practical from fundamental concepts to the students.
  • To analyze the performance characteristics of electronic devices and their applications
Outcomes:
  • Determine characteristic of semiconductor devices.
  • Develop ability to design drive circuit for Semiconductor Device.
  • Design low voltage power circuit to be used in electronics circuit.
  • Design Voltage source regulator using IC78XX, 79XX & LM317.

Circuit Theory Laboratory

Objectives:
  • The objective of Circuit & Simulation laboratory is to impart hands on experience in verification of circuit laws and theorems, measurement of circuit parameters.
  • To study of circuit characteristics using PSPICE.
  • It also gives practical exposure to the usage of different circuits with different condition.
Outcomes:
  • Define the various types of filter.
  • Examine the Theorems using different components.
  • Compare the voltage, current and power in different elements using both AC & DC Sources.
  • Simulate different circuits using MATLAB software.

Simulation Laboratory

Objectives

Practice on MATLAB has been opted for 6th and 4th semester students make them comfortable for designing various hardware projects and verify different experiments in absence of photo type experimental equipments.

Outcomes
  • Explain project design by using SIMULINK/MATLAB software.
  • Develop the programming skill in MATLAB for new engineering Projects.
  • Utilize their programming skill in MATLAB for solving math.
  • Design virtual experiment setup using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Electrical Workshop

Objectives
  • The sole objective of the subject is skill development among the Technician/ Diploma holder after performing practice of the experiments and become fit to meet the challenges in practical installation.
  • Students are able to know about all the tools and instruments required/used in conducting various workshop practices.
Outcomes
  • Define the basic components electrical installation.
  • Utilize the concept and ideas on installation by developing their skills.
  • Compare the different tools and equipments required in conducting the installation.
  • Design different parts to make a new whole in modern engineering field.
